Essiac Tea Ė Trinity Blend

Promoters claim Essiac strengthens the immune system, improves well being, relieves pain, increases appetite, reduces tumor size, and extends survival. Some also claim that it cleanses the blood, promotes cell repair, restores energy levels, and detoxifies the body. The different herbs are claimed to relieve inflammation, lubricate bones and joints, stimulate the stomach, and eliminate excess mucous in organs, tissues, lymph glands, and nerve channels.

It was originally claimed Essiac worked by changing tumors into normal tissue. Proponents claimed a tumor would become larger and harder after a few doses of Essiac, then it would soften, shrink, and be discharged by the body. Available scientific evidence does not support these claims.

Essiac and Flor Essence are also used to treat acquired immunodificiency syndrome (AIDS) and a variety of digestive system problems.

False Unicorn Root

False Unicorn Root

Traditional remedy - False unicorn is a traditional Native North American remedy. There is some confusion about its use since a number of other herbs have shared the same name or had similar names. It is thought that false unicorn was used by Native Americans mainly as a woman's herb, but it may also have been the remedy taken by the Arkansas people for wounds and  ulcers. The root was listed as a uterine tonic and a diuretic in the US National Formulary from 1916 to 1947.

Modern gynecological herb - Today, false unicorn is valued by Western medical herbalists as a key remedy for conditions affecting the uterus and the ovaries. False unicorn seems to have a "normalizing" effect on the female reproductive system, encouraging a regular menstrual cycle, and it is given to women with irregular or absent periods. False unicorn also encourages the ovaries to release their hormones at the right point in the month. It can take some months, however, for the herb to have a significant effect on the cycle. In addition, false unicorn is used to treat endometriosis, uterine infections, cysts and menopausal symptoms.

Frankincense

In ancient times, frankincense was used by upper-class Egyptians to ward off foul odors, which were associated with evil. It is still burned as incense today but needs an outside heat source, such as incense charcoal, to burn. Frankincense is an oleo-gum-resin that seeps from the tree when the bark is injured or cut. The liquid solidifies on contact with air into globular chunks or "tears." When ground, frankincense powder quickly hardens again upon air exposure. The resinous, dry and balsamic aroma is a component of many perfumes.

Kinnick-Kinnick

Native American Smoking Mix
Kinnick kinnick is a traditional mixture used when smoking the sacred pipe (or peace pipe). It is made from five different traditional herbs, each bringing a different attribute to the mixture. It is also acceptable to burn it separately, say in a shell or bowl without a pipe.

Yerba santa is widely used by Native Americans and was particularly famed for its ability to ward off negativity and provide an element of protection. The leaves were often carried by individuals to boost their spiritual strength and, in incense form; it's still used today in a healing capacity. As such, it's an ideal incense to choose if you want to bring an air of healing, protection or increase positive vibes in an environment.

Bearberry leaves are used during ceremony, as they contain antiseptic and astringent properties, which help cleanse and purify the air.

North Americans view osha root as having great power and luck, and as such it's often carried as a lucky talisman. When burnt, it produces a warm and slightly spicy aroma, which is believed to purify the air and also help connect to the higher realms.

Red Willow bark: Willows are regarded by Native Americans as being relatives of the four winds and carries your prayers on the wind and communicates them to the creator. The bark works well in incense and is an important ingredient in sacred smoking ceremonies. It's calming and soothing, making it an ideal herb for use with clearing purposes and during quiet sessions of meditation.

Mullen is regarded as being a protection herb and is used in many situations where extra protection is required. It's also thought to have masculine energy and associations with fire - some traditions have used it when trying to invoke fire elementals - but it's equally helpful when used by men or women. It is a grounding, calming and healing herb.
